REAL PRINCESSES
Wear-able princesses realised from the artist’s own childhood drawings.
Part of Linn’s artistic practice is to take her old childhood drawings of princesses, and turn them into life as masks. Looking at her drawings as an adult, she realised that now, from a normative view, they would be characterised as monsters. That made her want to give them space as the real prinsesses they are.
First time exhibited at Oslo Intercultural Museum
Oslo Carnival 2019
There are princesses in the room They are real
I wonder how we decide what is real around us
I wonder if I put a sign on something, telling that it is real, does it then become real
I wonder if something was real once can it then suddenly become unreal
I wonder what is the opposite of real
